Children & Youth

At St Margaret’s, we take seriously the need to encourage the young at the start of their Christian journey. We offer a range of activities and education to suit all age groups.

Welcoming Children & Young People

All children and young people are welcome at our church, whether at services,  social events or informally during Open Church.

We have a special service for families at 5.30pm on the first Sunday of each month. After that, we share pizza and play games together in the hall or outdoors if the weather is fine. There is an additional games and social session for 13+year olds on the third  Sunday evening of each month, in the hall.

At other services, children can bring their own quiet toys to play with. There are games, books and toys in the lobby for anyone who would like to borrow them.

If anyone would like to help with services, or find out about other groups linked to our church, please ask Lorrina, Michael or the people at the door. St. Margaret’s  looks forward to meeting You!

Sunday School (Cross and Dragons) – At Cross and Dragons children from the age of 3 upwards learn about the Lord and the faith through a variety of activities ……..

Cross and Dragons is the name of our Junior Church at St Margaret’s Leigh on Sea, taken from a scene in the life of our patron St Margaret. At Cross and Dragons children from the age of 3 upwards learn about the Lord and the faith through a variety of activities. We have a dedicated rota of teachers who plan lessons and ensure the children are actively engaged and cared for.

The children convene at the back of the Church just before 10:00am and join the entry procession and with their banner. They then retire to the Church Hall for teaching and activities rejoining the Mass at the Peace. The Mass finishes at 11:00am. Additional workshops are run at Christmas and Easter to prepare the children for these major festivals

You are welcomed to come along and see us in action any Sunday during term time – just enter the main church and make yourself known to one of our sidesmen. For further information  email
